 The
Sunrise part of Las Vegas is centered around
Sunrise Manor on the far east side of the Las Vegas valley. On the north end is
Nellis Air Force Base. About half of Sunrise is located on
the 'bajada' or base of Frenchmen's and Sunrise Mountain. It includes some of
the lowest parts of the valley and some of the highest inhabited parts of the
valley. The views of Las Vegas from the base of these mountains is spectacular.
As you go high on the 'bajada', you see more of the city.
The main shopping area is centered around Nellis Blvd where you will find, in
different sections, almost every major and local chains such as Wal-Mart. Nearby
neighborhoods include
Paradise
Valley
and
Winchester
to the west,
North
Las Vegas,
Nellis
area apartments
and
east
central Las Vegas
to the north and west.
