Boston is the capital and largest city in Massachusetts. Boston has a long history and while Pilgrim colonists from England first called the area Trimountaine, in 1630 they named the spot Boston. Several pivotal events in the American Revolution such as the Boston Tea Party and the Boston Massacre occurred here. Colonial landmarks continue to be a significant attraction to visitors. In recent times Boston has attracted high tech industries which bring business travelers to the city and the communities that surround it. Higher education and institutions such as Harvard and MIT also attract visitors. These factors combines to make Boston a robust market for hotels and the hospitality industry. The relatively higher occupancy rates in Boston tend to produce both higher room prices and higher end lodging. 

Room Rate Analysis: The room prices in Boston Massachusetts are not as seasonal as places such as Las Vegas. Compared to surrounding communities hotel room prices tend to stay high. Last minute and next day bookings are usually the same price per room as rooms booked 1 week in advance or as much as 10-30 days in advance. Note: when you book 3-4 weeks in advance room prices do not tend to go down. For the best chance of finding a good selection of hotel rooms in Boston during spring break it is best to book well in advance.
