The
'North Shore Road' is Nevada Highway 159 and extends from the
'Henderson' intersection up the Valley of Fire intersection with Nevada
Highway 169.
This
45 plus mile section of Lake Mead NRA is one of the most scenic rides in
Southern Nevada. Along the way there are three marinas, Callville
Bay, Echo
Bay and Overton
Beach and three other notable stops, Redstone, Rogers
Spring and Blue Spring. Each of these places have outdoor restroom
facilities of some kind.
The most
interesting stop along the way is at Rogers
Spring where there are also picnic tables.
The landscape is the main attraction along this ride because it shows textbook
examples of exposed geological formations.
