This photo looks east to the Virgin Mountains in the far back ground. This photo was taken from just below the West Entrance and is at a higher elevation than the rest of the Valley of Fire. Between The Valley of Fire and The Virgin Mountains, is Lake Mead NRA. The road which is on the right side of the picture is State Route 169 and this will take you to the Visitor Center, Atlatl Rock, Petroglyph Canyon, Lake Mead, Overton and back to Interstate 15 or Las Vegas.
