A result of internal drainage in the Great Basin of Nevada, is rivers such as the Humboldt River which does not flow anywhere. This extremely unique environment has yet to receive the protection that it deserves. It is however a part of the Humboldt Wildlife Management Area and as such receives attention from the federal government.
