The
Lake Mead NRA is huge. Most visitors have a specific destination
in mind when they go there and the travel
time
is usually known.
If you are a visitor, especially for the first time, Lake Mead has
several areas within in that each have a distinctive character. The
easiest way to see the most of Lake Mead is to take the Lake Shore Drive
and the North Shore Road to visit to various places that highlight Lake
Meads features. Before you start it is best to plan your visit so that
you may find exactly what you want, where to go and how to get there.
The first step in planning your visit to Lake Mead is to find out where
every thing is. That means looking at maps of Lake Mead. The National
Park Service has available the maps for this purpose. To view these maps
you will need to have a current copy of the Adobe Reader. This program
is available free from Adobe and most computers already have a copy
installed.
