The Visitors Center
"The Bronze Turbine" Exhibit
In the Visitors Center there are dozens of exhibits which show how Hoover Dam
Was built and how it works. There are also several art exhibits on display.
The principal exhibit
is called "The Bronze Turbine" and was made by Lauri Slenning,
designed
by Kevin Mills and produced by Janelle Curry.
It was dedicated in June 1996 The exhibit shows several bronze relief's depicting scenes of the benefits
of Hoover Dam. There are seven panels each arranged at an angle to one another.
The style is art-deco and very iconic and symbolic.
It is somewhat reminiscent of Thomas Hart Benton who was a significant
Art-Deco era painter.
