| Lake
Mead National Recreation Area Fishing License Information
Lake Mead NRA is
stocked with sport fish and has Large Mouth Bass, Striped Bass,
'Crappie', Blue Gill and sometimes Channel Catfish. Trout fishing
is available only on the lower half of the NRA at Lake Mohave and
on the Colorado at Katherine's Landing and the Cottonwodd Cove
area and around Willow Beach.
Because Lake Mead is adjoined by both Arizona and Nevada, fishing
licenses at Lake Mead are a matter of jurisdiction. The least
complicated situation is when you fish from the shore. You must
have a fishing license for the state from which you are fishing
from. If you fish from a boat, you must have a fishing license
from either Nevada or Arizona and a stamp from the other state.
For those lucky enough to be under the age of fourteen, no license
is required in either state. That's not all folks. If you are
considering trout fishing, you will need a special stamp for that
too.
Fishing licenses
and stamps are available at available at most marinas and at bait
and tackle shops around and on the way to the lake. No0te that
fees are subject to change
