the cities of Southern California. Barstow's motto is 'Crossroads of Opportunity'. That is exactly what Barstow is, a crossroad. In the past Barstow was a railroad crossroad. Today Barstow is at the convergence of I-40 into the I-15 corridor between Las Vegas and Southern California. As the 20th century progressed, Barstow became part of the old Route 66 and a major rail center. In modern times, being a transportation hub and where Interstate 40 flows into Interstate 15, two of the major highway arteries in the southwest, has guaranteed Barstow a bright future.
