The colors of the rocks, the contrast between the deep blue sky and the earth, the vastness of it all makes you want to put some meaning to it. In this attempt, I use the road as a symbol of time. We must think of time when we look at all of this. How much time it took to make it and how much unfathomable time this place has been here. I tried to bridge the distances by putting the lighter sandstones in the foreground next to the distant outcrop of the same color. Even though there is a valley between them, we make them look like they connect. From the place where this connection is made, the road as the symbol of time moves away into the distance. We can see where the road will go for a while, then it disappears in the distance. It's just a nice looking view. Stuff that I notice.
