Red Rock is usually seen from the Las Vegas Valley. The perspective seen here is looking from the south near Mt Potosi looking to the northwest. It is from this angle the it can be seen why the term canyon is used to describe Red Rock. 

To the left are the Wilson Cliffs and the mountains rising on the right is the northern section of the Spring Mountains.

On the other side, or to the west of Red Rock Canyon is Lovell Canyon which is also part of the Spring Mountain Range.
