Chuckwalla

ater, the
name chuckawalla is from the Shoshone word "tcaxxwal" or
"caxwal". The Spaniards recorded the form of the word that was
used by the Cahuilla Indians in southeastern California. It was written
in Spanish as "chacahuala." (1)
Common in the areas of southern Utah, Nevada, western Arizona and Baja
California. They can grow up to 1.5 feet long.
Note that this one is shedding skin on the tail.
